This course includes eight modules and approximately 9-10 hours' worth of content that you can explore at your own pace.

In Module 1, you'll learn about the connection between equity and foundational literacy skills.
In Module 2, you'll be introduced to The Science of Reading, the research that shows how we read and make sense of text.
In Module 3, you'll learn about the four foundational reading skills that support a student's Word Recognition ability.
In Module 4, you'll explore the first of the four foundational reading skills: Emergent Literacy & Print Concepts.
In Module 5, you'll explore the second of the four foundational reading skills: Phonological & Phonemic Awareness.
In Module 6, you'll explore the third of the four foundational reading skills: Phonics.
In Module 7, you'll explore the final foundational reading skill: Fluency.
In Module 8, you'll reflect on your learning to complete a performance task and explore additional resources to deepen your knowledge of the foundational skills.
